We get lots of questions when we go to service calls. Here are a few short answers.

1. How do I keep my computer free from Spyware and Viruses?
Keep your kids off your computer. They are the big cause. Change your password. Too many kids know their parents computer password. Also, try to get away from the old notion that everything is free on the internet. Software is not free. You pay one way or another.

2. MySpace. Bad or good?
Good if you do not install things. The problem is people want all the goodies that make their page cooler. Those require installing software. There's the problem. The software contains the viruses. Not just MySpace, but facebook and lots of other "free" softwares.

3. What trends are you seeing?
Wireless Printers are the biggest thing now. Plop your printer anywhere in the house.  The wireless printers are coming down in price. Many offices and homes are using them. Helps to save money when one printer can be used by the whole family and can be placed anywhere in the house.

4. Turn the computer off when not in use or leave on?
Leave on but go to your control panel and adjust the power settings. If you are not using it for a day or so, turn off. The only danger in leaving on is power consumption and power surges.

5. Which Wireless Router do you reccommend?
As a brand, Netgear. Pretty buttleproof. Buffalo and Linksys are my least favorite.
