My opinions and my own
At about 20-40 service calls per week, I have break-ups and love affairs with technology. Here are my current ones. (follow links for more info)
Loves
Laptops - Dell
Why? Easy access to hard drive, hardware failures pretty few and the Alienware Laptops just kick. Lenovo Laptops are pretty darn good too.
Flat Screen Monitors - Samsung
Why? Samsung makes great monitors. I sat in front of this 30 inch monitor last week for 2 hours and was in heaven.
Contact Management - BatchBlue
Why? I have migrated and we have cleaned up over 700 contacts this month with them. Pretty awesome service. www.batchblue.com
Computer Speakers - Bose
Why? I have never been a big Bose fan, but I heard these on a customers desk last month and the sound was amazing. He let me crank them up. Cool!
Blackberry Cover - OtterBox
I saw one this week on a customers Blackberry. Cool. Beefy, Rugged, very manly. But they have pretty ones too! I'm getting one! www.otterbox.com
Hates
Desktops - Compaq.
Why? They are cheap. Really cheap. Hardware issues abound. If you have one, please backup your data FREQUENTLY.
Hard Drives - Seagate
Why? Many failures. Even their externals are having issues. See?
Anti- Virus - Norton & McAfee Security Suites
Why? They consume too many system resources. They're Pigs.

Helping local PTA's raise big bucks
We are hosting a series of computer seminars/discussions as fundraisers for the local PTA's around our community with PTA's getting all of the funds. Beginning in November, you can attend and learn all about common computer terms and what they REALLY mean. Terms like Firewalls, Cookies, Routers, Spyware, Viruses, Malware and many others are talked about in a very low tech and easy to understand manner.
We are also getting into in-depth, frank discussions about parental controls, monitoring, blocking, logging and keeping your kids safe and out of trouble on sites such as Facebook and MySpace. Tickets are available and are $25 per person for a 2 hour course. The PTA of the schools get all the funds. Please help out!!. You can click here for more info on the courses and get tickets. More course topics like Windows 7 introduction and others are planned if these go well.
