Ask 10 techs what their tune-up consists of and you'll get 10 different answers. We are often asked about ours all the time. Usually it comes after the fact when our customers are so impressed with the difference, they ask "What all did you do!??" Sometimes it is hard to explain to them without sounding too nerdy.....so, here is a breakdown of our tune-up service.
To be honest and without sounding like I am bashing the competition TOO much, Best Buy (GeekSquad) will usually run a few programs and try to sell you one, namely WebRoot Spysweeper for about $50. Then hit you up for a memory upgrade. On top of their $200.00 in-home tune-up fee, you could easily spend $300.00 before you kick them out. Geek Squad rates are high for what you get.
Staples (At least the Eastvale Staples), on the other hand will offer you a $39.99 tune up and consist of running ONE program and little else. I have watched them perform a whole tune-up while standing in line and spoke to the techs myself. After asking him one question, I knew what was going on. When I asked him "What do you know what to get rid of and what the customers needs?" He replied "I just run the tool they (corporate) tell me to run".
As for our OTHER competition, namely nephews, brothers-in-law, cousins, uncles who listed to Leo Laporte on the weekends and other family members, I can only say some are good and some suck at it. The ones that suck at it are my favorite. The ones that are good at it, I hate because then there is no need for us, but congrats for having a smart guy or gal in the family who can get you out of trouble. Just remember, do not invite them over for "Dinner" just so they can look at your computer :)
We think our computer tune-ups are the best you'll get anywhere. Period. Here's what we do and why it works.

A few questions we get are below.
How often should I get our computer tuned up? Basically I reccommend twice a year by someone who knows what they are doing. Hopefully us. Be carefull though, running tools willy-nilly as most inexperienced guys may do can really screw up your system.
How long does it take? Basically 1 hour to 90 minutes on most systems.
Is the work done onsite or do you take it? In most cases, it is done right in your home or office.
I have a few systems that need to be cleaned up, are there discounts? Yes
How much are the computer tune-ups? Eastvale area pays $95.00. Other areas are slightly more, but not much.
Is there any data loss? Never. We do not open Documents, Pictures, Music or any other private data folder. We take privacy seriously. With our tune-ups there is never the risk of data loss....or snooping.
I have relatives that live out of the state, can they send you the computer? Sure, we will do it for the local price. We've had computers shipped from New York, Chicago and Idaho....just for tune-ups. At $95 plus shipping, it's still cheaper than alot of places who charge more and do bad work.
Say, how do I get one of these there fancy computer tune-ups for my internet computer box? Simply click here and tell us where and when.
